Layover in Vancouver

When we arrived for our first layover in Vancouver (from Calgary), we got ourselves a day pass for the sky train and headed downtown.

We spent some time at Pacific Centre Mall and when we walked outside towards the Vancouver Art Gallery we got to see and experience the "Occupy Vancouver" protest. An interesting setup of tents out in the rain and mud!

Next we headed over to North Vancouver via Sea Bus. I always enjoy strolling around LONSDALE QUAY MARKET and taking in the rich cultural diversity of all the different stalls.

As it was getting darker and colder outside, we headed back to the airport and spent the rest of our waiting time there before heading to Beijing.

It was at this airport where we both realized we would miss the cold COZY Christmas celebrations this year... as we sipped back some Starbucks-eggnog-goodness while making ourselves comfortable on their stretched out sofa... and listening to the Christmas tunes they were playing.

Does this sculpture look familiar to you? We had a hard time figuring out where we knew it from.

Next time you have a 20 canadian dollar bill in hand, look at the backside.
